blueSIP Fax for Windows XP

Preparation

Please note that administrative rights are necessary to install the blueSIP T37 driver. Be assured that "Microsoft Fax Service" is already installed. Please check if this driver is available as a printer (system settings > printer).

Installation

Download the blueSIP T37 driver from the blueSIP service portal (login with your blueSIP Premium account is necessary), store it locally on the Windows desktop system and start the installation procedure by double-clicking the *.msi file.

Please follow the instructions and accept, if neccassary, to proceed.

Setup

The setup dialog offers these input fields:

SMTP server name or IPFill in the name or IP address of your mail relay server
SMTP portSMTP port number oy your mail relay server (typically 25)
Time limitSeconds until a connection attempt will be terminated

Account name and password

If your mail relay server requires an authentication, please fill in your account name/login and  password 

blueSIP account and password
Please fill in your blueSIP Premium account name and password
e-mail address
e-mail address for the fax transmissions protocolls

Potential error message

In case of wrong data, you'll receive an error message. Please review the entries and correct the wrong ones.

System setting

If the blueSIP_T37 Fax driver is installed properly, you'll find the driver in the system settings as a discrete entry.

Sending a fax

Fax sendings can be initiated from every Windows application. Please navigate to print and choose as print driver fax. The recipient's name and fax number can be filled into the pop-up window appearing manually or from the Windows address book.

Controlling of fax sendings

XP will show a dialog indicating a positive fax transmission, after a fax has been sent. Please be aware, that this message is only a feedback message from the printer driver of the operation system. Also, Windows' integrated fax transmission protocoll list will indicate, that the fax message has been transmitted properly - which is not necessarily true.

Confirmation e-mails

In any case, successful transmission or not, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address which is configured in the setup menue.
